TOMS RIVER — Rose Ann Heckel’s 35th birthday was one she would never forget — for all the wrong reasons. On April 24, Heckel’s 9-year old son Lance was diagnosed with a brain tumor and rushed for emergency treatment to New York University Medical Center for surgery.
