PATIENTS can now pay to jump the queue for non-urgent surgery at the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC), it was announced yesterday. The Health Ministry is to allow consultant surgeons to use the SMC operation theatre facilities when they are “off duty”, charging patients who opt for private surgery.
