Scott Dixon claimed his first AAMCO Transmissions Pole Award of the season, winning the pole for the Iowa Corn Indy 250 at Iowa Speedway. Dixon, the 2003 IndyCar Series champion, turned a lap of 17.6484 seconds, 182.360 mph, in the No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Honda-powered Dallara.
